Eli and Jill’s daughter Macy has recovered really well and will be returning to school tomorrow. Praise God for answering our prayers.
Ali also told us that Bella is doing much better. Praise God!
Prayer Requests:
We pray for Stacey’s pregnancy and for her baby. May God give her a good pregnancy and may Carlos and Stacey experience God’s presence and guidance as they get prepared to become parents.
We pray for our country and the world leaders so they can have wisdom and discernment on their decisions through this economic crisis.
Keep praying for Ali, Kevin and their kids as they grow in their walk with Christ. May God bless and protect them.
We ask that God keep giving Madeline the strength and the will to quit the habit of smoking.
We pray that God will continue to give Davette the strength and the courage to bring the gospel to her neighbors and friends. May God bless Davette and give her wisdom and discernment in His word as she continue to grow in her walk with Christ. We ask for protection for her family, her business and her home. We pray for Davettes’s friend, Bill, who passed away yesterday. May God’s mercy and grace be upon him.

Next week I will be passing around an envelope for those that are willing to and can donate money for Daniel’s home ministry. We had a great day today and several kids were thankful to us and to God for our presence and support there. Praise God for the women and men in our life group that have given so much of their time to these kids.

Praises:
Praise God for responding to our prayers for the pregnancy of Stacy. Stacy mother, Madeline, had asked we prayed so God would give her a grandchild as Carlos and Stacy were trying to have a baby.
Prayer Request:
Pray for our capital campaign success and may God use it to unite us as family and to grow our faith in Him.
Unspoken prayer for all the families we have been contacting via telephone to bring awareness to our campaign. Pray for God’s blessings and protection upon them and our church during this difficult economic time.
Continue to pray for Davette’s friend Daniele, so God will rescue her from alcohol and drugs.

Praises:
Praise God for finding Carlos a new job and for giving him and Stacey renewed strength and increased faith on His power.
Praise God for strengthen Elliot and Jill’s marriage, for helping them grow together in love for each other and in love for our Father. May God continue to bless their lives, marriage and family, and continue to give them opportunity to experience Him in their marriage.
Prayer requests:
Continue to pray for Kevin and Ali and for their family, particularly Bella their daughter. May God keep the enemy away from their lives and continue to give them protection, understanding and peace. May the angels of our Almighty Father surround Bella in a shield of love and protection.
Pray for Stacey as she goes for a job interview this week. May God guide her, her words and actions, and let His will be done in her life and the life of Carlos.
Pray for our church capital campaign, our pastor and our life group. May God give all of us guidance and discernment in our decisions so that God’s will prevail in our life.

Next Sunday September 14th blood drive. There is still a couple of spots available for sign up. Encourage a friend to give blood.
September 21st Hospitality Sunday. Please sign up next Sunday during LG and remember to bring a gallon of either apple or orange juice.

Davette’s friend Danielle has allowed Davette to pray for her. Please keep Danielle in your prayers as well as Davette so God will give Davette wisdom and direction on what to say to Danielle.

Pray for my missionary trip to Brazil starting this Thursday. Pray for wisdom, discernment and anointing for me in translating the messages that will be given by pastors and guest speakers to believers and non-believers in Rio this coming weekend.
Pray that our LG will feel God’s love, mercy and grace as we continue to serve the ministries He has put in our path. May God continue to give us a heart willing to serve.

Prayer requests:
Pray for Davette’s friend Danielle so she may break away from alcohol and drug abuse. May God give Davette the opportunity and the wisdom to witness to her.
Pray for Elliot’s friend Steve who is going through a colon surgery in Chicago. Pray for healing and understanding.
Pray for all those that may be affected by the Hurricane Gustav. May God diminish the strength and power of this hurricane so the end result will be much needed rain in some of the southern USA states.
Pray and ask God to bring more volunteers and helpers for the bible study at Daniel’s home so more children are touched by God‘s word through us.
Pray for Tracy’s brother-in-law Tim as he restarts his life in Colorado with his children. May God strengthen Tim and his children and embrace them with His love.

I (Fernando) would like to give God praise and glory for the changes HE has made in my life and the life of my family in the last couple of years. May God be glorified by the changes He has made in my life.

1.) We are scheduled for North side dinner donation on Friday September 26th. Ali needs 3-4 volunteers to make a chicken casserole of their choice and have it to the church by 3:45 on that Friday. Ali has taken the leadership of this ministry up to this point but she needs help. If no one else volunteers to help this will be our last meal offered at the City Rescue Mission. Please consider helping.
2.) We are also scheduled for the blood drive Sunday Sept. 14th. Our Lifegroup sponsors it. The blood mobile will be on campus from 8:30 am -1:00 pm. Ali will need on next Sunday volunteers to help her with getting folks signed up. Some work was done today but more work needs to be done next Sunday. Annoucements; LG upcoming events.
Here are our upcoming events for our Lifegroup:
1) group time at daniel home Sunday Aug. 17th from 1p-3p for lunch, games, fellowship. Please plan on joining us if you can! I definitely will need monetary contributions to this if you guys dont mind. Lunch for this generally runs between $80 - $100/$120. So far I have a $10.00 donation only.
2) we are looking for any new leaders interested in helping w/ the Wednesday night Bible study at the daniel home on a weekly basis for 8 weeks. Tentatively set to start the second week of September Wed. 10th. We also end up w/ at least 5-6 new children each time and have been buying Bibles for all the kids since the beginning. If anyone is interested in contributing to this by actually purchasing a children's Bible ahead of time and having it ready to donate that would be so awesome. They go on sale from time to time and run between $10 and $15.00 at Lifeway. Some kids have NEVER owned their own Bible and some have never even OPENED a Bible. So how neat is it to be able to change this. By the way, we have had two children accept Jesus as their savior during our last 2 studies. WE ARE WHERE CHRIST WANTS US!!

Since this is now only a twice yearly event we need MUCHO support for this. We need to rally behind the church members to plan to donate and WE NEED TO BE EXAMPLES AND DONATE OURSELVES IF ELIGIBLE. This is such an awesome way to literally SAVE A LIFE! I will need the two Sundays before people to help me with getting folks signed up. Monica was a huge help last time and chased people around begging them to donate. Im not that brave but we need brave people like her to do this..... Thanks Monica!!!

5) Lastly, please dont feel obligated to donate. Its a little uncomfortable to ask for donations but it does get expensive if I dont ask. Pray about it and let me know if you can help in any way. I think it would be nice to start a "bank" for the Lifegroup with ongoing contributions here and there and have someone volunteer to be the "treasurer" - then when occasions come up that money is needed it can be taken from that stash and used for the event. How do you guys feel about that idea? As for participation, I URGE you to get involved with as much of these events as you can. It really changes you from the inside out when you do. Our Lifegroup is one of the leading ones as far as participation in the community and I would love to continue to be an example to the others. Remember our church is based on service and that is what Christ calls us to do.
Please prayerfully consider stepping up and REALLY getting active with these ministries our Lifegroup does. Thanks so much!
