Annoucements; LG upcoming events.

Here are our upcoming events for our Lifegroup:

1) group time at daniel home Sunday Aug. 17th from 1p-3p for lunch, games, fellowship. Please plan on joining us if you can! I definitely will need monetary contributions to this if you guys dont mind. Lunch for this generally runs between $80 - $100/$120. So far I have a $10.00 donation only.

2) we are looking for any new leaders interested in helping w/ the Wednesday night Bible study at the daniel home on a weekly basis for 8 weeks. Tentatively set to start the second week of September Wed. 10th. We also end up w/ at least 5-6 new children each time and have been buying Bibles for all the kids since the beginning. If anyone is interested in contributing to this by actually purchasing a children's Bible ahead of time and having it ready to donate that would be so awesome. They go on sale from time to time and run between $10 and $15.00 at Lifeway. Some kids have NEVER owned their own Bible and some have never even OPENED a Bible. So how neat is it to be able to change this. By the way, we have had two children accept Jesus as their savior during our last 2 studies. WE ARE WHERE CHRIST WANTS US!!

3) we are scheduled for the blood drive Sunday Sept. 14th. Our Lifegroup sponsors it. The blood mobile will be on campus from 830-1pm. Since this is now only a twice yearly event we need MUCHO support for this. We need to rally behind the church members to plan to donate and WE NEED TO BE EXAMPLES AND DONATE OURSELVES IF ELIGIBLE. This is such an awesome way to literally SAVE A LIFE! I will need the two Sundays before people to help me with getting folks signed up. Monica was a huge help last time and chased people around begging them to donate. Im not that brave but we need brave people like her to do this..... Thanks Monica!!!

4) We are scheduled for Northside dinner donation on Friday September 26th. I need 3-4 volunteers to make a chicken casserole of their choice and have it to the church by 3:45 on that Friday. Let me know by email if you can do this and I will confirm it. I also would appreciate any monetary contributions to get the remainder of the dinner which includes bread, dessert, salad, drinks, plates, cups, plasticware. I found out last time that runs about $40 for those items.

5) Lastly, please dont feel obligated to donate. Its a little uncomfortable to ask for donations but it does get expensive if I dont ask. Pray about it and let me know if you can help in any way. I think it would be nice to start a "bank" for the Lifegroup with ongoing contributions here and there and have someone volunteer to be the "treasurer" - then when occasions come up that money is needed it can be taken from that stash and used for the event. How do you guys feel about that idea? As for participation, I URGE you to get involved with as much of these events as you can. It really changes you from the inside out when you do. Our Lifegroup is one of the leading ones as far as participation in the community and I would love to continue to be an example to the others. Remember our church is based on service and that is what Christ calls us to do.
